- Hot Pepper - has a compound called capsaicin that heats up the body internally helping burn off excess calories.
- Green Tea - very well know for helping people lose weight, it has a compoud called EGCG that promotes weight loss by promoting diet-induced thermogenesis and fat oxidation (speeds up metabolism).
- Grape Fruit - having just half of the grape fruit, helps dissolve fat and cholestrol. A compound in the tangy fruit can lower insulin, a fat-storage hormone, and that can lead to weight loss. It's also a good source of protein, and because it's at least 90% water, it can fill you up so you eat less.
- Apples - Elevates blood glucose, making you feel full for longer. it contains non-digestible compounds that promote the growth of good bacteria in your gut associated with weight loss. These compounds—fiber and polyphenols—remain undigested until they’re fermented in the colon, where they act as food for friendly bacteria and help your body outweigh the bad bacteria that thrives on junk food, says lead study author and food scientist Giuliana Noratto. This restored microbial balance appears to reduce chronic inflammation, which increases the risk of obesity, and boosts feelings of fullness to help stave off overeating.
- Coffee - drinking it in moderation, acts as metabolism enhancer, for maximum weight-loss success, the Weight Control Room website suggests drinking coffee black, on an empty stomach and only in moderation. The site says caffeine can increase your metabolism by stimulating your nervous system because it facilitates the burning of body fat by pulling fatty acids out of the fat cells. The site, however, cautions against drinking coffee while consuming carbohydrates. "If you drink coffee while eating carbohydrates the insulin produced in your body may override the fat burning effects of the caffeine."
